Summer Project #3

I have made a pledge to not buy any more clothes for me or my girls this summer. Crazy, I know. Instead I will sew a whole new summer wardrobe for us. I know what you are thinking-Even crazier. But it's absolutely true that the more you sew the better you get at it, so I'm going to get stitching this summer. I already have the fabric for my bedroom curtains that will look like this:

$198 from Anthropologie

and a white with yellow polka dot seersucker fabric that will magically turn into this dress:

I also still have to make my girls birthday picture outfits. Tutus, ruffled dresses, tutu dresses and twirly skirts need to be made, so I need to go to JoAnnes today.

So, do you want to join me and do some Summer Sewing? I'll get a Flickr account so everyone can post all their summer sewing projects on there to give everyone ideas. What are you going to sew?

Thank you so much for coming to the kid's birthday party. It was good to see you and nice to meet Braeden. I love the curtains you are going to make....& I the dress is adorable. I need to try to sew myself something but after redoing all of my curtains I am soooo sick of sewing right now but I am going to make Kali a few more skirts for our San Diego trip so I will post some pics. Thanks again for coming Rosemary, I really appreciate it & I am glad I have gotten to know you better this past year.

I'm sewing this summer too! I was doing some summer shopping and thought everything was super cute but looked very simple to make. So instead of spending money that I should be saving on clothes that are overpriced, I went to Joannes. I went to the clearance section and found some really cute pieces of fabric. This past Monday I made a swimsuit cover up that is crazy cute. I even made up my own pattern. I think it took me around 3-4 hours and costing under $10. I haven't sewn that much this past year so I'm going to make a few more cover ups to practice my skills then move on to bigger and better things. You'll have so much fun sewing for your girls. I love making little girl dresses. I'll be watching to see what you make.
