Braden's Birthday Week

I haven't posted in a while, we spent the past week playing outside, since it's Arizona spring right now. I LOVE IT! We literally lived outside Wednesday-Saturday. Kathie & I also took our kids to Peter Piper Saturday, which was a freakin disaster. Do you ever have really great ideas in your mind, that turn into nuclear meltdowns in reality? Yeah that was us Saturday. 5 kids under 5 at naptime is not a pretty sight. We dragged 5 kids that were literally kicking and screaming out of Peter Pipers, amidst dozens of people that were staring/laughing at us. Kathie & I were laughing so hard we were crying. I guess at times like that, you have to just laugh or you'll lose it. I couldn't even yell at Olivia after, because by the time I had strapped her in the carseat and went around to buckle Landen, she had passed out asleep. Classic.

Anyway, Braden's Birthday is coming up on Tuesday. Since that day is also Mardi Gras, we did his (& Kathie's, they have the same birthday) birthday dinner today. Momma Suzy made ribs, potato salad, fruit dip, & asparagus & I was in charge of the roasted garlic mashed potatoes & pies. Kathie requested the Pear Gruyere & Braden got Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake. I used the filling recipe from Tyler Florence & used a ready made graham cracker crust. Tuesday we are doing a Mardi Gras Party at Momma Suzy's (who wants to come? There will be beads, and you don't even have to flash us.)
